Notion AI vs Taskade (2026): Which AI Workspace Wins for Remote Teams?
Published 24 Sept 2026 · Updated 3 Oct 2026 · 6 min readNotion is a workspace for docs, wikis and databases with AI added on top; Taskade is a project and task workspace built around AI agents. The biggest practical difference is how you pay: Notion charges per member, and its full AI features start on the Business plan; Taskade charges per workspace, with a set number of users and a monthly pool of AI credits.
TL;DR: Which One Fits Your Team?
- Choose Notion if your team's main need is a shared knowledge base — documentation, wikis and databases — and you will pay for the Business plan to get the full AI features.
- Choose Taskade if you want AI agents that work through tasks and projects, and a flat price that covers up to 10 users on Pro.
1. Where the AI Is Included
On Notion's Free and Plus plans, Notion AI is a limited trial. The full set — Notion Agent (chat, generate, autofill, translate), AI meeting notes with transcription and summaries, Enterprise Search and Research Mode — comes with the Business plan. On Enterprise, Notion says its LLM providers apply zero data retention.
Taskade includes AI on every plan but meters it in credits: 6,000 one-time credits on Free, 50,000 a month on Pro, 150,000 on Business, 400,000 on Max and 1.1 million on Enterprise. The Free plan allows one AI agent; paid plans allow unlimited agents.
2. Plans and Prices Side by Side
| Plan | Notion | Taskade |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 — AI as a limited trial | $0 — 2 users, 1 workspace, 1 AI agent, 6,000 one-time credits |
| Entry paid | Plus — $10 per member/month, AI still a limited trial | Pro — $10/month, 10 users, 50,000 AI credits a month |
| Business | $20 per member/month — full Notion AI | $25/month — unlimited users, 150,000 credits a month |
| Higher tiers | Enterprise — custom pricing | Max — $100/month, 400,000 credits; Enterprise — custom |
| Yearly billing | Up to 20% off | 50% off |
3. What the Pricing Means for a Small Team
For a team of five that wants full AI, Notion Business costs 5 × $20 = $100 a month before yearly discount or VAT. Taskade Pro covers five people (up to 10) for $10 a month, or Business for $25 if you need more credits or users — as long as the monthly credit pool covers your AI usage. Taskade's lower price buys a different product, though: a task and agent workspace, not a documentation hub with databases.
4. Data Protection for EU Teams
Both store your team's documents, so under GDPR Article 28 you need each vendor's Data Processing Agreement, and you should check where data is hosted and which sub-processors are used. With AI features, also check whether your content is excluded from model training — Notion states zero data retention by its LLM providers on Enterprise; for other plans, and for Taskade, read the current terms.
5. Which Should You Choose?
| If you need… | Pick |
|---|---|
| A company wiki and databases with AI search | Notion Business |
| AI agents working through tasks and projects | Taskade Pro or Business |
| Lowest cost for a small team using AI daily | Taskade Pro ($10/month, 10 users) |
| Zero data retention by the AI provider, stated by the vendor | Notion Enterprise |
